Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (“ADHD”) is sometimes referred to as a ‘superpower’. It can be the source of creativity, fascinations, or energetic application to individual projects. However, it can also be a source of anxiety and lack of productivity, limiting peoples ability to form meaningful relationships.
I work with people who are either diagnosed with ADHD, or suspect they have it, to put in place strategies that allow them to harness the many positive attributes of having ADHD, and manage any negative elements that limit their lives.
ADHD has been widely studied and there are known and proven methodologies that those with ADHD can adopt to help themselves, in both their personal and professional lives. It’s important to remember that ADHD very often affects those around you as well, so taking action has many layers of benefits, not just to yourself, but to everyone who is important in your life.
“What do business moguls Sir Richard Branson, Ikea founder Ingvar Kamprad, and JetBlue founder David Neeleman, have in common? Well, besides being monumentally successful, they all have ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), and, like other entrepreneurs and CEOs, some will even tell you that they are successful largely because of the “diagnosis”, not in spite of it.”
